Google Talk is light and useful, but quite ugly too. Here you have some themes to make it prettier:

Author’s install instructions:
Put the theme folder in “Documents and Settings\[Username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Google Talk\themes\user\chat\“. The application data folder may be hidden so type it in or view hidden files and you may have to create the \chat\ folder yourself.
